Gently does it

I’m currently loving Fantastic Man’s new sister magazine, The Gentlewoman. Launched last year, the third issue is out with Adele gracing the cover. The magazine claims to be:

"The new biannual style magazine for a new decade. Featuring inspirational, international women, it pairs ambitious journalism with a sartorial and intelligent perspective on fashion that is focused on personal style – the way women actually look, think and dress."

The strikingly simple design is what caught my eye first. Vast white spaces, minimal and good use of typography/layout. It’s reminiscent of an old-fashioned magazine but yet startlingly modern. The spareness is refreshing and it stands apart from a lot of the women’s magazine you see on the newsstand today.

This issue features Adele Adkins, writer Fatima Bhutto, activist Mabel van Oranje, cosmetic dermatologist Dr Frances Prenna Jones, Colette’s creative director Sarah and artist Germaine Kruip to name a few.

Check it out, it’s definitely one for the coffee table…
